Gunther Wölfle

Gunther Wölfle, born in 1968 and raised in the Schwarzwald-Baar district, studied architecture and urban planning at the TU Berlin and at the University of Stuttgart (graduating with a specialisation in „urban planning”). He first worked as an urban planner in Stuttgart and from 2003 to 2011 as a research assistant at the TU Dresden (Institute for Architectural History, Theory of Architecture and Preservation of Historical Monuments); there he was responsible, among other things, for the organisation and implementation of the „Supplementary Studies in the Preservation of Historical Monuments and Development of Existing Buildings (ESDB)” in cooperation with the DenkmalAkademie of the Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz. From 2005, he worked as a freelance urban planner and communications consultant, including as a partner in the Sociopolis office partnership (Berlin, Dresden, Erfurt). From 2013, he was initially project manager for public relations and event management for buildingSMART Germany as part of the BMWi funding project „BIMiD – BIM-Referenzobjekt in Deutschland” (www.BIMiD.de) and has been the association's first full-time managing director since 2015 (www.buildingSMART.de).
