Franka Birke

Dr. Franka Birke is CEO and co-founder of metr, the solution provider for energy-efficient buildings. She has 18 years of experience in the start-up industry and worked for six years at the Chair of Technology and Innovation Management at the Technical University of Berlin, where she completed her doctorate on the topic of technological competence and success in young companies. She then built up Germany's first clean tech accelerator, the Climate-KIC at the EUREF Campus Berlin, as project manager and took over as acting head of the Centre for Entrepreneurship in 2016. Franka Birke is also a PropTech representative of the ZIA Zentraler Immobilien Ausschuss e.V., a jury member at the EnergyAwards, on the board of Bitkom's Smart City working group and at the Berlin-Brandenburg Business Plan Competition.
