Dr. Volker Hentschel

Dr Volker Hentschel has a doctorate degree in traffic engineering (aerospace sector) and has been employed in a managerial capacity at Deutsche Bahn AG since 2004. Since January 2023 he is DB AG's representative for Digitale Schiene Deutschland (Digital Rail for Germany). He has been member of the Executive Board responsible for Production at DB Netz AG since December 2017. Prior to that he was in charge of technology and system management as it applies to tracklines in the Production division at DB Netz AG. There, he was responsible for maintaining the trackline system types across the entire product life cycle from development, to planning, building and maintenance through to decommissioning. Before he began employment with Deutsche Bahn AG, Hentschel worked as a corporate consultant in various different transportation and industrial companies.
